This new café-bar-restaurant makes a pleasant change from some of Kigali's emerging glitzy and priced hangouts. Torero is a laid back, warm and welcoming space in the lower floor of a commercial building a stonesthrow from the roundabout in town.

The concept (local art, theatre, classes etc), mixed with good no-fuss Rwandan coffee and a simple-but-reasonably-priced bar make for something different, without being pretentious. The tapas-style food cleverly uses fresh local ingredients, and they have some of the fastest service in Rwanda! Carnivores and vegetarians alike can eat well at Torero. The small plates menu features a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items.
